The best way to check the area out is to drive around and see for yourself. Only you can judge what area is safe for you.

Let me know if you would like to see the property. There is no fee for using my professional services.

Hello Taiwo
I understand considering moving to any area is an important decision but fexeral law prohibits real estate agents from making comments about areas.Another point is one person will like an area & another person may not.It is a personal preference. I can suggest to go online & google Mayfair and you will see information about the area. You can also go to the Philadelphia police dept. website.
Please contact me regarding your real
estate needs.
I am a lifelonv resident of Philadelphia with 15 yrs fulltime experience in real estate.

Resources that you may consult to help with this question are the Philadelphia Police Department, The Philadelphia Inquirer online special crime report. Do some research on the 19121 zip code in general.

The area you refer to has a lot of Temple University students co-mingled with generations of longtime residents. Like all of Philadelphia, it's block-to-block. I always recommend visiting a home at night during the week and on the weekend before committing to a purchase.

It depends, a lot of time that far south it goes block by block. There is A LOT of rehab going on 4-5 blocks north. Eventually this is going to be next wave of rehabs however in all honesty its not their yet HOWEVER this is a great price to get into the area at this point. They recently just reduced the price as well.

Let me know if you have any questions. Are you preapproved?

Timothy Garrity answered:
Hi, Amanda.

The question is, what exactly do you mean by "that bad."

First, if you are referring to crime statistics, licensed real estate agents are not allowed to say whether or not they think a certain area is safe or not; it violates our ethics code. Plus, the term "safe" can be extremely subjective.

Second, if you are interested in learning more about the crime statistics for a certain area, please check out this link: https://www.crimereports.com/agency/philadelphia. You can literally look at specific street corners to see recent activity.

If you need anything else, please let me know.

Best,
Tim

Below is a good link for keeping track of reported crimes in the area. It lists the type of crime, when it occurred, and where it occurred. It may be wise to track this for a bit to determine if you feel the neighborhood is safe. Hope this helps.
