There is hardly anything safe in between. Any other good area outside of center city is a bit away from I-95. Some areas of North East Phila may be OK but they are far from center city.
Northern Liberties and Fishtown are a bit closer but not more than bu a mile..
There is no truly good area sort of in between or more exactly the middle.. I would strongly suggest Art Museum Area in this case.
Please feel free to contact me any time. I will do searches for you to find something that will fit your budget.
Sincerely,
Dmytro V. Bova

you are describing an apartment that is $1000-$1,100/month in those areas. old style apartments with coin-op laundry in the basement, older kitchens and bath without parking rent for $750-850 in the areas you described. best of luck to you. I suggest you compromise and share a 2 or 3 bedroom house or apartment that meets your criterion where each bedroom is a $800/mo commitment. ... more

Ryan Garrity answered:
HI Tiffany,

It really depends on the landlord, but those with not so great credit need places to live too. A few things that may help your cause are if you're able to put down 4-6 months rent up front. Or, if you're able to meet the landlord in person and explain your situation. It's always helpful to be upfront and honest, and if you explain your past and demonstrate that you are now a more put together person, then he/she may give you a chance. A face to face meeting definitely has a higher impact than a phone conversation. That would be my advice. Hope this helps, and good luck.

Best,

Ryan C. Garrity
