My suggestion would be to contact a Real Estate Agent in the area that you're moving to. They are the experts in that area. Search the internet or if you know someone who lives in the area ask them for a referral or recommendation for a Real Estate Agent. ... more

The Southpointe development in Cecil Township has many options for both rental and single family homes. It is just south of the Allegheny County border, and benefits from a 1% lower sales tax rate in Washington County.

McMurray, Peters Township, and Canonsburg may also be options for you, since they are on main roads between Pittsburgh and Washington.

Northwood Realty Services offers free relocation services, including assignment of a dedicated relocation agent to help your search. Get it touch with me so we can discuss your needs in detail.

You are moving to a terrific city with so much to offer. As far as family friendly neighborhoods with new construction in your price range you will dozens and dozens that meet that criteria. If you are relocating for a job then where you or your spouse work will be a big factor in narrowing down the best area to live. How close do you want to be to the city?

We currently live in Washington County and love the Peters Township area. We also lived in Pittsburgh years ago in Westmoreland County and liked it there as well. We would also have considered areas north of the city, but it was too far of a commute for us. And there are excellent neighborhoods to the west near the airport not to mention tons of great locations closer to the city in Allegheny County.

I'm sure if you give more detail on what your needs are you will get some excellent suggestions from the Pittsburgh folks on here. Good luck with your search for the ideal place for your family!
