Generally a pre-approval means that the lender is ready to make the mortgage based on the information/documentation provided at the time; whereas a pre-qualification generally is an estimate of how much can be borrowed based on your information. ... more

Hi Aimee -

The best source I have found to compare school districts and the schools within them is www.GreatSchools.net. On this site you will find the courses offered, testing results, per capita expeditures for students, etc.

Another site to check is the Newsday education for the School Report Cards: http://schools.newsday.com/long-island/

Please let me know if these sites are helpful to you and if they help to put your mind at ease! Of course, if you are thinking about moving, please let me assist you in the sale and purchase of your new home.

Regards,
Arlynn

It's a matter of taste; if you are not familiar with the area, now is the time to explore, spend some time, drive around, check out shops, local eateries, transportation etc., and take it from there. Keep in mind opinions are just that, what matters is what you like and what you are comfortable with.
