Most condo boards will not approve a rental of less than one year. If you have a valid rider it doesn't matter if it has been filed with the board/association. The owner would bear the consequences, if any, of your early termination. ... more

The building is intercom so there's no concierge to call, try property sharks. It should have a contact name & #. Best of luck.

Aileen-Manhattan-NYC answered:
Robbin,

If you decide not to work with a broker, there are a number of large and small rental mangement companies you can speak to. Just conduct an internet search and make sure you make numerous visits to NYC.

You may want to consider working with a broker since you reside either in Boston or Buffalo and you've posed this question under "New York County". Many rentals and/or buildings in Manhattan do not allow large breed dogs, let alone multiple large breed dogs. If they do, expect to pay more rent and more towards your security deposit. A broker (for a fee) could conduct the search for you, maximizing your rental options. While this would be more efficient (in terms of your rental search), it will add to the costs of relocating.

If you're relocating due to an employer (corporate relocation), then be sure to negotiate that your employer pays the broker fee (among other things).

Good luck and feel free to contact me with further questions.
