Hi Bonnie
Your new home is in the 2nd Precinct. Their web address is:
http://www.newarkpd.org/opsne/2nd.php and their phone number is
(973) 733-6080. I would give them a call, most officers are very helpful when a concerned parent calls .
Best of luck in your new home,
Maria

Ms. Giles, real estate agents are not permitted to discuss crime activity due to state and federal laws. You can contact the local authorities for specific information.

Crime crawls over all areas of Newark. Your best bet is to check out the area during the day and at night., especially since it's getting warm. You can't live in fear, but if you don't feel safe in the area, its best not to be there.

Hope this helps!

Yes, this neighborhood is safe. This area is redeveloping with new homes, commercial space, retail and more. I would have said 10 years ago that this area was bad. I've lived here for 24 years and seen alot of changes. The government was dumping section 8 and homeless people here. There was a lot of crime. Honestly, police has stepped up and played a major rule in keeping crime to a low. There are always a few bad seeds in a bunch. Anywhere you go in NY their will be areas that seems unsafe. It is really up to you to make sure your safe. Any neighborhood you may live in, speak up about criminal activity go to the local police or contact the community board. Slowly but surely they are cleaning up this area. They're bringing the beach back. I wish I could have bought at Waters Edge, but I already own a property. The prices are great for a redeveloping community. In 2015, you will not even notice Far Rockaway, Arverne or Rockaway beach. You probably won't be able to afford to even live out here. My Family has homes out here and has very high hopes for this area. Sorry to make this answer so long. ... more

It will give you the stats for the city, not the specific street, but if no one locally answers, it might help. ... more
