Well, if your child plays a sport in high school, there are fees for that. Not sure if there are fees for middle school sports. You pay for the usual -- lunches, school pictures, field trips, school supplies etc. I don't think it is much different then most other towns. ... more

In Wayland, you pay property taxes, water bills and trash collection. I believe the majority if not all houses are on septic, so there is no sewer bill. The water is town water, so it is not as high as MWRA water bills which is a plus. There is no trash collection in Wayland - through town services. You either go to the dump - which is pay as you throw bags and around $150/year. Or you can get a private contractor to do it. ... more
