Sarasota county does not allow you to park an RV on a regular residential lot without having a home on the lot. You would have to park the RV in a designated community that allows RV's. Try this web site: www.rvparkstore.com

Commuter rail could possibly happen if funding is available. Might take a while.
I am a REALTOR and coach for Woodcroft Athletics and SDLL Little League. There are many recreational leagues and plenty of individual parks located through out Durham for families and sports.
I have lived in Durham since 1986 and have found many avenues to "play".
In SW Durham there are walking trails in many of the subdivisions as well as play grounds, pools, basketball and baseball fields. Herndon Park located south of I40 offers baseball, soccer and play ground.
Email or call and I will be happy to share.

Well Alison,

I think that just about all of us that have enjoyed a warm/sunny day in Dolores Park can attest, there is plenty of drinking going on in the park. Will there be an end to it altogether? This seems extremely doubtful but you never know.

According to the article you posted there have been people bringing in kegs. I have never personally seen that but I'm sure it happens. I, for one, am completely okay with people drinking in the park if they handle themselves and don't become a nuisance to others. I do not condone under-age drinking or the reports of heroin use, etc but think that responsible drinking is okay.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Hi Alison,

I'd recommend Alta Plaza Park, which is just four or so blocks west of Lafayette Park (toward Fillmore Street).

I know that City of Houston and Harris County are being very diligent about spraying because of the number of deaths from West Nile. I'm sure the frequency varies from area to area, and I'd have to know about where you live/want to live to be more helpful. As for anything else you can do, what I've heard and read is: 1) don't go out in early morning hours or dusk hours; 2) use a spray and use plenty of it, and it should contain Deet: and 3) watch your own yard for standing water and eiminate that. Item 3 could help in both the mosquito attracting problem and the preservation of the integrity of your slab foundation ( if you have one, and most of us do in this area!). Anything else I can do to help? Don't hesitate to contact me. After 38 years, you'd think I'd be burned-out, but I find that I am energized with buyers and sellers both who are committed to working as a team member with me. ... more

Most sellers sell because they need to sell to buy something else and move on they don't want to wonder if it will ever really sell or not. What you are offering is going to make a seller wonder if you will ever really buy it or not so don't get your hopes up unless you are paying WAY more than they are asking and I still bet they won't -- I wouldn't. ... more

Hey Alison,

There are several parks in Houston to run in. I would say that it is pretty safe to run Terry Hershey park and Memorial Park by yourself during the day, but I would not run anywhere by yourself at night. Going back to the previous questions about the bar scene, Washington is a good place to bar hop and Memorial park is very close to that area. You may want to start your search close to that area. Hope this helps!

Mallard beaks range in color from a dull green to a sunny yellow. Females tend to prefer males with bright yellow beaks. Scientists think that females prefer brighter beaks because it signals that the male mallard is fit and able to produce healthy offspring. Beaks are colored due to carotenoids - the same pigments that make vegetables brightly colored. More carotenoids leads to a brighter bird beak. When determining the exact cause of the green coloring, be careful who you get your information from. You see, there are a lot of quacks out there! ... more

Lee,

This is a good and funny question! Maybe the South end of the park will be more focused on those soccer moms and their children and the North side will be full of 'hipsters'. Either way, people will have to make room for both and find a way to get along.

There is no doubt that the new playground brings in more of a focus on families nearby and can only help the values in the area. I certainly couldn't imagine that something that nice would bring prices down but stranger things have happened in the world.
