Having lived in this area for 15 years, I would bet on Morgan Hill. Prices there have more room to climb and Porter Lane is in one of the less desirable neighborhoods in San Jose. But, if you're looking to work in San Jose, there are other options available. ... more

Where abouts in CT are you from? We're originally from just outside of Hartford.

We live here in Deltona, have for about 8 years now. Deltona is definitely a unique community. It was pretty much left to its own devices by Volusia County for years. It wasn't until fairly recently that the town incorporated and there's a bit more order to the "chaos." We are definitely a blue collar town, lots of housing and parks, some grocery stores and Wal-Mart but not much else. We don't see it as an issue, because everything you could want is just on the other side of I-4. We like the location because we are close enough to be an easy drive to Daytona Beach or the Orlando attractions without having to deal with the traffice and tourists. The main issue with Deltona is there are very few HOA's - and Florida loves HOA's. If you are looking for uniformity, Deltona isn't the place for you, but if you are looking for a place where you don' t have to ask permission to paint you house, you'll probably be very happy here.

If you are looking for a realtor, I'd be happy to help.

Good morning, Judiith.

This is an excellent question - one that will help many people considering the Venice area - so thanks for asking it.

I live and work in Venice, love it's clean beaches and small town charm, and very familiar with the area.

When you say, walking distance to "town," do you mean the Historic District on Venice Island? In that case, you would need to live on Venice Island to walk, or quickly bike, to its quaint boutiques and sidewalk cafes.

If you mean, walking distance to nearby shopping and restaurants, there are opportunities for you all along Venice Avenue, Jacaranda Blvd, Shamrock and US41.

It would be depend on your budget, if you want deed restricted or non deed restricted, gated, new or older, public utilities or well and septic.

If you email me your wishlist, I can send you some listings to consider.

Typically you will have hoa fees associated with a townhome every month. Many town homes in the Dow area will have an apartment style feeling with little to no backyard. They can be more affordable however unless your looking for 2bed,2bath around 1000 soft I would pass on a town home personally .

There are many towns to choose from in your price range. As far as newer construction, you could likely find a newer condo complex in most of the commuter towns. Do you have any specific towns in mind? My focus counties include Essex, Union and Morris county. Feel free to contact me if you would like further assistance.

Hello Jeremy, the short answer is yes. Bear in mind that Jacksonville is the largest city (in land mass) in the country. You can drive close to an hour from one side of town to the other. You will find that the further you get from the coast the larger the lots tend to be. The same hold true with the age of the home. Older homes tend to have bigger lots. Just let me know what your needs are and I will send you nformation on all homes that match. Feel free to call or email me to get you started.

My wife and I are currently raising there children in Highlands Ranch. We can't say enough good things about the area and schools. Highlands Ranch/Loan Tree really offer some great amenities and will be the perfect location for a very short commute to Sky Ridge Medical Center. I really believe you will find the sports and activities you are looking for, within a great community setting. I can also recommend a great local lender that has a wonderful program specifically for Physicians. Feel free to contact Chris Miller at Colorado State Bank and Trust with any questions regarding the program. Chris can be reached directly at 303-588-0521. Hello. I am 22 years retired Air Force and have lived in San Antonio for 17 years now. There are lots of areas near Ft Sam that are very nice. It all depends how much you want to spend and what you are looking for in a home. If you are buying or renting and how long you depend on being here. I know being in the military you don't always know how long you are going to be here, but sometimes they do give you some idea of a tour time.

If you would like to give me a call or an email, I would be happy to help you find a home. I have been a Realtor since I retired 8 years ago and have helped numerous military personell transition to San Antonio.

Hi Shylon,

Firstly welcome to the East Bay. You will certainly find a big climate change.

I have a couple of questions.

1. Where will your husband be working so you can look at commutes.
2. Are you looking for schools.
3. Time frames. Rentals are going very quickly and there is very low inventory.

Please email me and I would be happy to help you.

There are some conventional loan options where you can put as little as 5% down -- but everything depends on your financial circumstances, price of house, and credit.

If you'd like more information or to speak with a mortgage professional who can help guide you through your potential options, please let me know. I work with a few who can help you determine what may be best for you based on your situation!

Thank you!
