The fact that our new MLS system has done away with the abbreviations is a tremendous boost to both us as Realtors and the general public as well. I've been testing it out since Monday when we were given our access codes and it is going to help us and the public in ways Paragon (our old system) couldn't. Not only are the abbreviations gone, but now when a Realtor sends you listing to look at, you can view them in your own web page generated by the MLS and make comments, cross homes of the list (interested, not interested, or maybe), and update your contact info. I do believe today is the day that our San Antonio Board Of Realtors made a huge step in the right direction for us and consumers.

As for the acronyms, I see someone has already given them to you.

Good luck with your home search!

CMPRE = Company Relocation, LOWPC = Low Pile Carpet, HMSRV = Home Service Plan (like American Homeshield), VTLTR = Virtual Tour, CRPOW = Corporate Owned.

You will be happy to hear that the new MLS system we are switching to this month does away with all these difficult acronyms and simply states the descriptions in the form of whole words.

Please let me know if you need help with any other abbreviations before then, I keep a list handy of all the acronyms and what they mean.

VTL TR probably refers to virtual tour. The rest I am clueless about. Sorry.

Don't feel bad, a lot of times I have to look up ones I haven't seen in awhile. This new MLS is a huge time saver and way better for consumers (tell your agent to start using it instead of Paragon, you'll thank me later).

As for the food, I know what you mean. I lived in Los Angeles for 8 years then returned to rural PA where I grew up...the best Mexican I could find was Taco Bell. I craved real Mexican food for 3 years before my wife and I started looking for a new place to live. In our pros and cons list of places to live "good authentic Mexican food" was actually an entry.

I hopw your search goes well and you find the perfect house.

Wow! The professionals on this site are fantastic. Thank you all for your help. I usually can make out what the acronyms stand for, but these just wouldn't translate for me. I appreciate all the input from you all and I do look forward to moving back to Texas. I miss Texmex food. Most establishments here that advertise mexican food really mean El Salvadorean food, which is just not the same. If all goes well, I will be shopping for a home in S.A on Friday. I appreciate the quick and informative responses.
