Only a licensed Realtor can be paid a referral fee or commission for any real estate transaction. The State of Florida frowns heavily on someone trying to go around the system.

I do not know Florida real estate law. In California someone who is "part of the transaction" can be paid, but there are criteria. Check with the FLorida Dept. of Real Estate.

This is part of Real Estate 101......it is illegal. If you are working with someone that is talking about paying a referral, we suggest being very cautious.

Yes. It is illegal to pay, compensate or provide such service with the expectation of compensation. The crime is known as "unlicensed activity". The State of Florida is very serious about this matter.

Yes, it is illegal in Florida, Real estate agents can only pay referral fees to other agents who are licensed and are in active status (i.e., working for a brokerage firm).

Yes, as a licensed agent/broker. You are limited to only paying a referal fee to another licensed agent/broker. Some states have limits on what can or can not be paid. Best bet is to log onto your States real Estate comissons web site.
