I would say yes to the first part of your question. The prices we see know will not last forever. I would figure out where you are looking and contact a local expert in the area. Even though it is all Florida each area has different building codes and impact fees (when you build) and those fees and codes could always change and can be very expensive. Another example, some waterfront areas require that you build on pilings that could be quite expensive. Cape Coral Gulf access lots, some lots have seawalls in and some do not, that is just one of many points. Because of the foreclosures you can buy homes much less then the price to build, so think about that. Our lot prices have dropped a ton but homes are still the better deal. If you are interested in Southwest Florida; Gulf coast, I would be happy to help. Drop me an e-mail or call and I could set you up with a search so you can see what is available. I am from Maryland and lived in Gaithersburg before we came here. Glad to be in the warmth and away from the beltway and love Cape Coral. Best of luck and let me know if I can help.
