Matt Kovach with Gibralter Mortgage Services. He can be reached at 281.580.7021 and Marilyn Causey with HomeTrust. She can be reached at 281.376.5000. Both of these companies originate their own loans.

Compufund is out of Business.

Do not bother calling them. Your best bet these days is to stick with the large lenders and banks. Countrywide, Wells Fargo Mortgage, Citi, Chase, etc. If you go with one of these companies, it will save you in origination fees that other mortgage brokers would charge. Also I would look at your local Credit Union. They usually have better rates and lower closing costs than other lenders.

I would also play the lenders against each other to get the best rate. If you have good credit and money for a down payment, you are the type of client lenders are craving right now.

I thought I would mention one more thing. There are other great lenders in the area. I usually hand out 3 or 4 to each client. There are 2 here and there are probably multiple local websites to look at.
