Which parts of South Minneapolis (SW or Nokomis) have the least airport noise?

The MAC updates help some, but I want to spend time in my backyard too!

Here's your best bet... run by the Metropolitan Airports Commission.

The Flight Tracker will give you the actual flight paths and noise contours.

Also, prevailing winds will change the flight path. I live at Hwy. 101 and Cty. Rd. 24 in Plymouth and have been able to read the serial numbers on the wing from time to time! Yikes! My first answer was a flip comment meant to be funny. Ya gotta have a sense of humor sometimes!

I agree with Aaron. I lived near Hiawatha & 46th, and had far less noise than 10 miles away in Minnetonka. Extend the runways straight out, and that's where the noise is.

I have to disagree with Jeanie's response. Distance from the airport isn't nearly as important as distance from the flight path. Moving a block or two east or west can be better than moving a mile further north if you are in the flight path.
