Do you have to RSVP for an open house? Do we need an agent with us or can we come alone?

An open house is open to the public. You can with or without your agent. However, if you are currently using an agent, make sure the agent that is holding the open house knows you are currently working with another agent.

In almost all cases, an open house is just that. Open to the public.
You can simply go take a look.

However, there are some rules that agents work by that you might want to consider.
It has to do with which agent is due any commission should you decide to purchase
this property.

It is best, if you select an agent that you are comfortable working with before you start
looking. This agent will provide you with all the information you will need to make an
educated decision down the road. And this agent, if selected to be your buyer agent,
is tasked with looking out for your best interests. With selecting one to be your
"buyer agent", be careful, all other agents are obligated to look out for the best interests
of the seller.

Interview a few agents. Find one that takes the time "up front" to explain all this to you.

Then go look at those properties that fit your needs and your budget.

If you do not have buyer represenation, you should. It is a free service that is designed to protect your interests in a real estate transaction.

Remember that the agent sitting at the Open typically represents the Seller.

A Buyer Agent would and should present you with comparable sales information. That way you would have a better idea of neighborhood market condions. Such as price, days on market, propoerty marketing period, etc..

Always a good question and you will probably get some variations of answers. If you are currently working with a buyers agent, out of courtesy I would let your agent know that you will be touring some open houses. But you do not need an agent with you.

When you sign in at the open house, you can put down who your buyer agent is. If you are not currently working with an agent, of course you can go to the open house and enjoy the opportunity to view ! That is the benefit of open houses, they allow consumers the opportunity to see properties and it benefits the seller to have potentially more traffic coming through their property as well.

No,just show up between the given hours. If you already are working with an agent,you need to mention this to the hosting agent,but that's all you have to do.
