Since your profile is not yet complete, and your didn't define your location in your question, I am interpreting your question as a sincere outreach for ideas and help. Posters here place high value of Trulia remaining a credible information site and are guarded against self-promotion. Unfortunately, there have been some abuses, and it is because Trulia is so great that there is such a push to keep it pure, we can be quick to respond to what appears to might be self-promotion.
With that said....on to your question.......
I was going to suggest that you go to Active Rain and search their site for “First Time Home Buyer Seminars†and read those posts and threads. I see that you are a member of AR. (I am not...someday.) Personally, I do not do any first time home buyer seminars, and my suggestions are what I would do, if I were going to host one.......
Bulletin board notices in: health clubs, laundry facilities, tanning salons, coffee houses, diners, apartment blg club houses, grocery stores
Are there community calendars online for your area....perhaps they will post. What about community blogs.....perhaps they will post.
Advertising within your budget.
Good luck.....do come back to Trulia, share your comments and questions here. You can read the community guidelines and best practices which may help you become more familiar.
Good luck and I don't think that you are self promoting. If you had put the time, place, date, etc. that would be advertising.
I thought that this was a form to ask any kind of questions relating to real estate including those of other agents. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I would do several things. I would, if you have not already, get a team on board with you. Those that I would invite to be a team would be, an Insurance representative that you work with, a mortgage representative that you work with and a title co. representative that you work with. I would have all of them do their own marketing, plus, I would do marketing myself.
I would market to apt buildings for sure. Other places you might want to market would be laundromats, local gyms, grocery stores in and around area were there are a lot of rentals. The next suggestion I would make if you want to be successful, is to make it a monthly event. You may not get a great turn out your first time. It takes awhile to catch on. It can be a great benefit to buyers especially with the Q & A. There is a lot more to buying a house than first time home buyers realize. Getting them as much information as possible will help everyone in the process.
Thanks for your question. It is a great one!
