If the market is really hot (a seller's market) than the seller is expecting either a cash offer, or someone who is willing to make up the difference in their mortgage in cash. For example (for simplicity sake), if the bank is willing to loan 90% of a 500K appraisal. The buyer must bring the 10% cash to closing which is 50K and they must also cover the extra 29K over appraised value. In this case the seller would expect buyers to have at least 79K to bring to closing. Hope that helps. ... more

You plan on moving in Oct 15? I would contact rental agencies and find ask if any have a listing that currently has a tenant that plans on leaving around that time. You maybe able to line yourself up with one. Seeing that many people are military here, they know when they are going to be leaving. ... more

There are actually very few 'town home' communities' that have Tabb as their high school. Most of the town homes in this southern York area are in the Grafton school district. There are a few condo communities in Tabb but mainly single family homes. If you are renting, it may not make a difference if it is a town home or condo. ... more

Hi Orlan2399,

This property is in the Tabb area of York County. It's off of HWY 134, just a few miles from the main Langley gate. The Tabb Animal Clinic is on the corner where you would turn into this neighborhood. The homes there do not always meet all loan requirements because of the type of structure. VA loans are usually ok.

The 23693 zip code is for Tabb area homes. 23692 is Grafton, which is also York County and about midway between Langley AFB and Ft. Eustis.

We lived in Tabb for over ten years. Langley was our last military assignment before retiring in Yorktown. If you would like any assistance, I know the area well. Feel free to contact me.

If the homes are already foreclosed upon by the banks they'll soon be, of not already, listed on the local Multiple Listing Service (MLS). If by "up for foreclosure" you mean that they are scheduled for auction at the courthouse steps, those are advertised in the local newspaper. But if you are referring to homes in jeopardy of foreclosure (some call that pre-foreclosure status), it gets a little more tricky. All that means is that the homeowners are behind on their payments. There's really no polite way to inquire about something like that of strangers, and a lot of people don't think of it that way at first.

There are some really good deals out there in York County-both foreclosures and ones that aren't. If you'd like some listings sent to you via email without pressure from me or have other questions, please get in touch by either calling, texting or sending me an email.

Lots of routes to York County from Hampton University. Do you know the hours you will be working? Mornings the traffic seems to move a lot quicker but the evenings for some reason are slower. Hampton Highway or Rt. 134 might be a possibility. It all depends on the area of York County you choose to live. It is a long thin shaped area. Welcome and you will love it here. ... more
