Consider, Houston is traditionally higher then national averages with crime rated at 212% of national average. I would take a look at the amenities of the home, the area is a consideration. Keep in mind this is central west close to memorial etc. You should not be seeing any higher crime rate than those for the area. Again, this is close to memorial drive, i/10 memorial city healthcare and shopping, etc. Things to keep in mind when you are looking for a home. ... more

The guidelines are 3 yrs out from the foreclosure date if you want to purchase another property.

As far as getting it removed off your credit report, I've heard credit repair companies claim they can remove them, but I've yet to see any removed.

Kim, I noticed on Trulia it has a "crimes" Tab on the listing information. Go to the listing on Dolores St , scroll down to the map, and click on it. I dont know how accurate it is, but it is there. The different websites out there are great too, but if you are looking at homes and get the chance to talk to neighbors, most love to talk about their neighborhoods....Driving thru at different times of day or week tells alot. A neighborhood where everyone is working on their yards on a saturday morning is always a good sign. And do remember, the best neighborhoods will eventually have an "incident" just because our city is so large and news is so instant that you will hear about it.
Let me know if have a Realor helping you yet, feel free to check out my website, too.

The Maintenance fee will be determined by the area that you are looking at to buy a home in. I would say that on avarage most HOA fees are around $850.00.

Dear Home Buyer, I'm a Houston Realtor and Investor, and if you need to find a property for lease with the opton to purchase, I can easily arrange that for you. If you'd like to contact me, I can discuss how it all works and I can certainly find almost exactly what you are looking for in whatever area you are hoping to live. Most Realtors don't know how to deal with lease options and they usually try to talk you into other ways of going about it, but being an investor, I do these all the time, so I can help you. These are terrific ways to purchase a home because with just a few qualifying questions that I have for you, you could be set up to lease for a year or two with the option to purchase whenever you're ready within that lease term, and you don't have to worry about credit checks or bank loans and their stringint requirements (especially THESE days). Feel free to e-mail me at with your phone number and I'll be happy to contact you. ... more
