Thre is nothing illegal about placing an offer on a home without seeing it. Many times when I have difficulty scheduling a showing on a home, because of the owner, the tenant or even the other agent (yes there are difficult agents), we go ahead and place the offer "contingent upon viewing the home".

This way you get the Listing Agent's and/or owner's attention to respond.

I also have many invesors that know certain areas very well and just place offers on homes sight unseen because they don't care what the house looks like, especially if it is "cheap".

If you are working with an agent they will help you with the "little secrets" that can get your foot in the door on a property you may otherwise miss out on.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you,

Hi Brenda,

Are you currently working with a Realtor? If not, as mentioned, it's best to find one you like and trust to represent you on your mission to find a home. This particular home is a short sale, and does have a signed sales agreement. With the help of your agent, one you've entrusted to help you through this process, they can get information as to whether this deal is likely to go through, or they can keep tabs on the property until it either closes or goes back on the market. Short sales frequently can take a long time to close, and on occasion, the buyer isn't willing to wait. Normally, only one offer at a time is accepted on short sales. The banks wait until they hear from the investor and work to see if the deal presented can be approved before looking to get another offer from another potential purchaser. Hope this helps!
