Depending on the disability, you should also look into the SAH grant ("grants" are far better than "loans"). Jack Conway offers some programs to facilitate Vets and many local agents are USMC vets themselves (Raymond Slayton is the closest one who comes to mind in Whitman area).

Lets not to forget the most important comment I can make to you... Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your service to us all!!!

Hi Linda,

Today, 2/27/13, there are 2150 miltifamilies in the MLSPin.
I would contact a local real estate professional to help with this answer and to save time and money.
(Not me, I'm on the Cape, but I can help you choose a local pro if you want help doing so.)

You can google map the town and see them from the air and even the street level.
You drive the area and get to know what is close to the streets you are interested in.

I am not aware of a town that doesn't have parks or wlking areas.
Specific dog parks in Kingston.
From another site: (http://www.ecoanimal.com/dogfun/massachusetts.html) "Bay Farm is great, lots of other dogs and people, and a beach on the end for the dogs to swim. During the summer there are mowed paths through the tall grass, they mow the whole thing out in winter and it is a giant field. Dogs are alloed off leash but must be under owner's control. Part of the Bay Circuit. Bay farm is 66 acres of Farmland on Kingston Bay, lots of dogs, a beach and offleash. Silver Lake is 92 acres wooded on Silver Lake, off leash, not alot of other people. Location: Bay Farm is on Landing Road on the Duxbury side of the Duxbury/Kingston Line. Silver Lake is off the south side of route 27 in Kingston just east of the pemboke/Kingston liine. Long dirt road. Directions: Silver Lake is set far off the road about 1/2 mile. There are multiple trails through the woods and a small beach on Silver Lake. It is a great place to walk, but I have actually only seen (1) other person in the dozen of so times i have walked there with my dog."

Rates are low so borrowing is cheap however people shouldn't think this means it is the right time to buy for them. It is hard for anyone on this platform to give you real sound advice because every individuals financial situation is different (many factors) so it's important that your first step be to sit down with an accountant, financial adviser or your point person at your bank.

Good luck!

Treebie20 I suggest you ask about keeping the existing foundation and adding on to it even if you choose to demolish the rest of the house. The advantage of doing this is it usually means your real estate taxes are based off the existing assessment thus lower than building brand new. Ask this of the contractors you interview to possibly do the work. ... more
