It really is two things--a lot of very much older people are moving to smaller residences and selling.

Two were bought as starter homes, and they couldn't keep paying more than the homes were worth--both bank owned!

I really love the street, walk to Walmart, the General Store is a couple blocks up the road, Mill Road takes you past beautiful preserved farmland for wonderful walks with children and who else?? Of Course, Fido goes every day!.The Post Office is right behind the general store!
There is very little traffic--22 has a 55 per mile speed limit !

I just live in the area..no connections at all to real estate!

Hi Susan,
Great question! I dont think the impact will be significant. Most of the Merck employees commute to the site from Morris, Somerset, Essex, and even Hudson Counties. Not many were relocated to the area and which would have resulted in an increase in the real estate market values. Being so close to the Bridgewater area as employment center will not impact the closure of the Merck site. If Merck would relocate out of the State of NJ it would impact more significantly. ... more

NJ Transit will have you go to Newark and then transfer trains to NYC Penn Station. From Penn station you could take the LIRR to Jamaica I believe and then hop on a train to JFK. You can also take the local subway lines as well. Only problem with these routes is if you have luggage, carrying it around can be a pain. ... more

Please make any recommendations. We have experience with major renovations, so don't need hand holding. I'm not interested in over-paying for that. We also would like recommendations…
