The local police would be the best source of this information. Trulia does have a crime map on their listings, (the last I looked) so that might be a starting place, but get some more specific information on the neighborhood you're interested in from the local police. ... more

After reading the answers to several agents, they all have great ideas. In the Los Angeles area, there is are a few websites that will break down the type of crimes (i.e. auto theft, burglary, etc.), however, whenever, I've called the local department, for the zip code i'm inquiring, the answers are all very illusive. I am not aware that the general public can specifically find out what type of crimes happened in an area unless you go down to that local station. ... more

Look at Edgewood Manor in Hunker (near New Stanton). 1 street is Hempfield school district, the other is Southmoreland. Nice townhomes with garages.

Im about to seal a deal on a beautiful bright House in Monessen. Its the last house on a treed no-through road on (Parkway Ave) near all amenities and plenty of front of house parking. From bedroom windows you can see the main River and wildlife.. there is forrest & bush surrounding the home no immediate neighbours, a very quiet street. beautiful gardens (which will need basic upkeep) and new Roofs and plumbing. ready to roll.

Greetings Nowel!
Good question. I think if you are concerned about fire, then a one story might be safer because trying to exit a second floor in an emergency could be an issue. If you are questioning crime reasons I would definitely query a police officer or security professional.

Have a good night.
