Hi,

Thank you for contacting us. I apologize if you experienced any inconvenience or frustration with editing your for sale by owner listing and I am happy to help take care of your concern.

As a general reference, Trulia does not have a central platform to post/edit listings. Instead, listings are sent to us through a variety of feed sources such as partners, brokers, agents, third-party feed providers, or directly from an MLS.

Your listing, specifically, is being sent to us from Zillow, which is our partner site that sends us listings.

Any changes you are requesting to your listing on Trulia will need to be updated at the source, Zillow. Here is a helpful link on how to edit your Zillow listing:

https://zillow.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/215448047-How-do-I-edit-my-for-sale-by-owner-listing-

Your changes will automatically update to Trulia within 24 hours.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Thank you for using Trulia!

Grizzly,
If you don't have a written lease, you have a month to month arrangement. The Landlord Tenant Law in NJ will tell you how much notice is required to terminate the arrangement, but I suspect 60 days is probably enough. You can search for this and find out exactly what your options are.
Having the home vacant and staged can make a huge difference when you are listed. Tenants may require up to 24 hours notice before showings and complicate the process.
I'd encourage you to start searching for your listing agent early. Often a good one will be able to help with many phases of preparing your home for the market and save you time, money and mistakes.
Best of luck with your sale.

Overall, there are not many Indians or south Asians, but there is a solid number of East Asians. I know a couple of Indian families here and they both love Westfield. If you want a disproportionately high Indian population relative to the overall u.s. population, choose Edison if you want a suburb and choose jersey city if you want a city. Westfield is one of the most desirable towns in the state because of its schools, downtown, sense of community, and location. Even the town pool and library are exceptional. But if you are looking for a large Indian populace, this is not the town for you. ... more

The EPA has tough guidelines that requires the owner of a property with an abandoned oil tank to have it removed, and some areas also require that an inspector be present at the time of removal to ensure that old oil is not spilled during the process. They also way want to inspect the tank itself for holes or leaks. The costs to remove the tank, pay penalties if there had been leaks, and have someone remediate the oil in the dirt/groundwater is very expensive.

You might want to just have someone with equipment that can 'see' metal underground go ahead and inspect the property before you continue with your sale. If there IS a tank, RUN.

You can normally get a seat leaving Westfield between 6-6.30.15. After 6.45 you may have to skip the odd bus or be prepared to stand.

Returning from Port Authority before 5 is fine. Between 5-6.30 the lines for buses 113 and 114 are crazy and the organization at PA not very good. You often have to wait for more than one bus to get on and there is a lot of tension in the air. Not a great experience at all.

But there are an increasing number of direct trains to NY Penn and frequent trains to Newark Penn.

I drive to Harrison and take the Path to the World Trade stop for lower Manhattan. I do this because of the flexibility getting home later in the evening. It takes between 20 minutes and an hour depending on traffic to get to Harrison, the same back in the evening. About 25 minutes to WTC from Harrison. There's plenty of parking in Harrison and it costs between 8-11 bucks a day.

I live in Westfield and grew up here as well. The big difference is that Cranford is in a Flood Zone and Westfield is not. Many also say that the School System in Westfield is much better, but that is debatable! The two towns are truly very alike, and both are very nice with access to fabulous down-towns and train stations!

If you have any further questions or want to discuss purchasing a house in either town my work information is below! I would love to help.

Indeed this is good news -- but as you dig into the details, this will be very limited 'one-seat service' and will start only with a few "off-peak" trains.

Hi Stan, My daughter takes the 113 in the morning at 6:49 She gets it at the train station on North Avenue in Westfield. It has many stops along the way until it gets to the Parkway. Door to door is about an hour. She has been making very good time getting into the city. The later you leave, the more traffic. At night the bus runs about every hour until midnight.

Hope this helps. He you want more information, I will put you in touch with my daughter who takes the bus every day.

Good Luck

Eileen

First off, I wish you the best on your upcoming search.

There are many great towns in Union and Essex county. I grew up in that area and know most of them. You should probably look around the Raritan Valley line for an easy commute. They're actually runnig some test trains that could potentially take you directly to Manhattan. As of now, you would have to take a connecting out of Newark.

Towns like Westfield, Scotch Plains, Fanwood, and Cranford all have great school districts and their communities in general are close knit and friendly. If you want a cute downtown, I would concentrate primarily on Westfield or Cranford.

To really understand where you should focus I would need some more details on the type of house that would be ideal. Feel free to contact me at maniespkw@gmail. I would love to extend a hand of help.
