There is no clearcut answer to your question. Based upon the land value and the amount that it costs to erect a home on it should be the best estimate of your offer. The fact that you want it may increse it or the perks that the builder includes. Asking the opinion of a buyers agent would also help. ... more

While the W. Hempstead line is fairly close to you ( I live 4 blocks from the house in question), you need to look at the LIRR schedule. This line is one of the worst. Rush hour trains are not too bad, only changing at Jamaica. But most off hour trains require an additional change at Valley Stream.
I know a number of people who drive from WH to the New Hyde Park station - a bit further but NHP is on the main line, plenty of express trains and you can park on the local streets.
Any other area questions, give me a call - I would be glad to help.

Your best best is to get in touch with a mortgage banker or office. Many can help you out of the the phone. If you would like to get some phone numbers of mortgage people whom I have had positive experience with in the past, feel free to ask. In most cases these days, the banks want about a 20% downpayment for home purchases, but you will need to confirm that with the mortgage people. Credit scores, credit history, income and a number of other factors will also need to be considered by the banks before they make a decision and/or issue a mortgage pre-approval. All the best and good luck in your search. ... more

Hi Bella..good question..it really depends on how much work the house needs to become marketable..Are you talking painting and cosmetic or are you talking upgrading electric and plumbing??? It really does all depend on the condition of the home..some buyers prefer to purchase a home where they can personalize it to their individual taste..while others just want to walk in and unpack their suitcases..The first step should be to have a Real Estate Proffesional take a look at the home and evaluate it to advise you as the right thing to do..
by the way..I grew up in West Hempstead and I am a member of the West Hempstead Chamber of Commerce..Good luck
