HI Dj,

You actually can't list on Trulia as for sale by owner. You would have to pay for what is known as a flat-fee listing service to be on Trulia. Zillow is more FSBO friendly, though.

Of course we're biased, but I agree with Oliver. You should interview multiple agents first.

For sale by owner can seem like a big money saver, but usually the work of a top performing agent will give you the most money for your home.

We created our service to streamline the process of interviewing and negotiating. We help connect home sellers with top performing agents that compete against other agents for your listing. Because agents know they are competing, they bring out their best services and rates, sometimes lowering commission, which can help you get the most money possible for your home.

No matter what you choose to do, we hope you have a great selling experience!

Trulia does not allow for Sale by owner listings (FSBO). If you are selling your home yourself your best options are going to be Zillow and craigslist and owners.com. If you would like to use an agent we would more then happy to help you out.

Andy -

I'm not sure on the actual statistics, but I know it really depends on the price range that you're considering. If you're working with a great realtor, they will help you determine if what you're looking at is a better investment than others.

I'm not personally a realtor (I'm a mortgage lender), but I'd be happy to connect you with someone that can get you the expert advice you need!

Let me know how I can be of assistance to you!

Thanks again.

If you know the property address, I'd be happy to help. Otherwise, you can usually find it one of two ways...

1) Look it up on the Polk County Recorder's website and look up the previous homeowner. Just determine the most recent mortgage and most likely that's the company that's handling things. Often if the mortgage was assigned, the assignment will also show up there.

2) Look up on the Polk County assessor's website. Usually they will show up as the owner of the property.

Let me know if I can be of any assistance on things!

Thanks again.
