The published "public" facts about my home are wrong. For example, it is reported that there are 3 bedrooms when really there are 6. How to correct?

The first consideration should be the era and overall style of your home. You don't want a bathroom that's wildly out of step with that.

If resale is a concern, try to aim for neutral finishes. Gray has been a very popular color in recent years but it takes a lot of effort to find more than one gray product (say a floor tile and paint color) that work together. There are so many undertones in the gray family that one gray can make another gray seem purple or green or even beige.

Granite is dying a slow death right now. I'm not saying no one does it anymore but it's absolutely on the way out. I honestly never liked it anyway but my tastes lean pretty retro.

Tile does give a higher-end look compared to a plastic surround but it's also a lot more work to keep clean. One of the current hot trends is white subway tile with dark gray grout. We did that in one of our bathrooms but at the time planned to move within a year. If I'd know I'd have to deal with it for a few years, I might have been more inclined to go with the plastic surround purely because of the easy of clean-up.

If you want a wood-look floor in a high moisture area, go with a ceramic tile that looks like wood.

Lawyer is only there for profit. The seller is just a seller. Why not realize that when you buy you are on your own. I don't think that is what you want to hear. But the fact is, you are. Legal recourse is not going to give you what you want. The ex husband is probably a great guy. Forget about it. ... more

I know that to list our home for sale you have to be an agent. I would contact customer care to see if same rules apply for rentals.

The best advice here is to seek out a REALTOR. I know there are a lot of long winded answers here, but no one can really give advice on a hypothetical property that is any good. A signed agent will have all the information, and guide you as to the best offer. ... more

I tend to agree with Ron, however I would also want to see what the upgrades and updates are really like. It may be a matter for review, if your selling price is in line with the neighborhood. Taste is something that may need up grading.... it may be re coloring, or editing. But do take it seriously. With that many showings, there is something amiss. ... more
