No matter what you are looking for, a car, a remodel or a Realtor, remember the old addage of comparing apples to apples. So, you really need to be considering the neighborhoods, the marketing tools the experience and the motivation when interviewing Real Esate Brokers. Number of sales can really cloud the issue. There are some agents that work totally by themselves and then there are agents that have assistants, listing agents, buyer's agents and office help and all of the sales closed are reported under the the name of the Team Leader. The best advice I can give is get referrals. The majority of my business comes from past clients and their referrals of new clients to me.
