I have found that insurance agents are very happy to receive an MLS sheet that the Realtors use. It shows the year built, room sizes, square footage and other descriptive detail. If you don't have one for your home you could send me your adress and I will look up your home on the CTMLS and email you back what you need. We have access to these forms as Realtors subscribing to the CTMLS as part of our annual dues. Any licensed Realtor can provide you with this. ... more

Connecticut has become more defendant friendly over the past 2 years, most cases are reverted directly to mediation and the mediators are very knowledgeable especially on loan modification.

Even if mediation were not to work the process is very drawn out, the court offers extensions giving you time to attempt modification, short sale or deed-in-lieu-of and it could take years for the bank to take the home, then housing court may allow you to stay in the home as much as 6 month beyond the eviction date.

The state web site is very informative, and the clerks at the court are very helpful, just make sure you do not miss answer or court dates

Good Luck

When you say it is comparable what does that mean? Year of construction. I have seen houses on the same street for sale and have seen as much as a $50,000 difference. The more expensive one got snapped up and the other two are still on the market. ... more
