Georgetown ( generally, and my area in particular ) are very safe. My house is located right next to the Embassy of Thailand so there is constant police present. If you dial 911 the police arrive in about 3 minutes. Crime is really low here.... more
Pets are not allowed. The unit is in a condo building which does allow pets, but the owner of this unit has specified that pets are not allowed. Lease terms are typically for 1 year or more in DC, and in the District, once a lease has expired it automatically renews on a month-to-month basis until a new lease is signed or the tenant moves out.
If you are interested in pet-friendly rentals, let me know and I can help you find a place that meets your parameters.
Thank you Chris!
Can you tell me if the apartment is located in a low crime area and if it is safe to walk to CUA?
WE are looking for 1 bedroom apartment ( 1,100 top monthly rent ) or a studio apartment ( 900 top monthly rent). Must be close to CUA or close to a metro station that stops in CUA. Low crime area is top priority... more
I'm not sure what your question is, but GWU is most easily accessed via the Orange and Blue Metro lines. It's located between Georgetown and the White House, in one of the pricier parts of the District. At this moment in time, 1-bedroom rentals that are easily walkable from GW range in price from $1900 to $5500 per month, and 1-bedroom condos and co-ops range from $222k (with $707/mo co-op fee) to $1.75 million. Great school in a great location, but not a cheap place to live.
Let me know if you have specific info about the area. For information about the school itself, it's best to go to the source: www.gwu.edu.
I would be happy to fully explain the things to consider when buying a condo. Please contact me and I will send you some very helpful and detailed information and also answer your questions. 410-340-6425.... more
The Washington Post Crime reporting site is useful by area at www.WashingtonPost.com
Any stats from police official crime reports are good, but I would take any word of mouth information with a grain of salt as it may not be accurate.... more
I went to HU and am very familiar with some of the great pockets (... and not so great pockets for that matter!) nearby. Have you found an ideal spot yet? If not, give me a call and I can help you get it done. Let's talk soon!

If you run a google search you will find the information you are looking for. Also the Washington Post ran some information about the Cathedral Heights neighborhood: http://www.washingtonpost.com/real-estate/neighborhoods/Cathedral+Heights,District+of+Columbia,DC-neighborhood-details.html
Please let me know if you need any further assistance.
