Alphafury,

Just curious ... what inspired you to ask the question: "Why are there so many Section 8 houses in this area?" That is a very general question which could mean a number of things. Please specify exactly what you are asking.

Gain valuable insight into a community by looking at household incomes, crime risk, education levels attained, and potential for extreme weather. Use the map to locate points of interest like shopping, restaurants, and healthcare services.

Yes. I have lived here 45 years in the neighborhood.

Occasionally there is an incident but we are talking fewer than 4 in 45 years.

As far as your crime rate question is concerned you see the answer form Aaron Smith which covers it perfectly, but then there are ways for you the buyer to find out, go to the local police station, and search the internet.... and if you are interested in the purchase of a subway station in a certain area, you MUST connect with a local Realtor, familiar with the area and familiar with the purchase of a business of that kind. Do not do this on your own and based on answers to a question, that does not include any information about your expertise in such a business, and your financial possibilities...

You need a good attorney and a very good Realtor to find you the right business to start ....

Good Luck to you

1824 R Street NW 20009 was an Inn from 2005-2010, it is now a private home, but could potentially be converted back pending zoning approval as it has the required parking.

FYI, the popular website WalkScore.com allows you to type in two addresses (under "Your Commute") and it will not only tell you the distance it will tell you the terrain - hilly, flat, etc! Here's the link (assuming it works) describing the commute between 3883 Ct. Ave and the Cleveland Park metro station - http://www.walkscore.com/commute/3883-connecticut-ave-nw-washington-dc-20008/to=Connecticut-and-Ordway-Streets-NW-Washington-DC ... more
