Hi Alvia: Great question... Here are a couple of great links that I recommend to all my clients to investigate and research the areas that they may be interested in moving since I assist many out of town buyers and military relocation

http://www.greatschools.org
You can view ratings and reviews

http://www.Spotcrime.com
will break down what type of crime and the areas. You may also contact the local police dept on their non emergency line and they will provide you with more information as well.

Let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local authorities with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.

Without getting into crime stats, I'll tell you that in my opinion it's pretty safe over by First Landing. There are gorgeous homes and it's right by the beach. It also has the state's largest nature park which is very safe. I go there all the time and have never felt in danger.

If you're looking to move there or know someone who is, I would definitely suggest taking a ride through the area to get a feel for it yourself. :)

Hope that helps!

Here is a link to a free website that provides community info for that zip codes, including crime stats. Feel free to use this site to research the different communities in Hampton Roads. In addition to getting crime statistics, you can also get demographics, school information, weather risk, and nearby businesses.

I hope you find the site useful. Feel free to share with any of your friends and colleagues. If there's anything else I can help with contact me at anytime via phone, text, or email.

Thanks and have a wonderful evening!

Agents get asked this question all the time and we really are not allowed to make any comments other then to tell you to call the local police station or go online to a site like crime stats and type in the address. You may also want to ck out megan's law website as well. The best thing to do is knock on some doors and talk to the neighbors. Ask them what they like about the neighborhood and how long they have lived there. Drive around. Burglary info should be available to you online. Good luck and Happy House Hunting! ... more

Statitistics are done by different groups from a variety of data bases. In todays market that should be the least of your worries. Make sure who you pick as an agent has a good grip on internet marketing. You might use Google to see if an agent can market themselves. ... more

Keep in mind that not all online information is accurate nor up to date--when it comes to any crime issues, your best source of information is always the local police department--
