Lee,
You bought a home and the land and are paying the seller. Forget that the seller is carrying contract, assume it's a bank. Unless you can prove the seller caused the fire, it's not their fault and you owe them the payments on the land, based on what you've written.
If you feel the seller was negligent in some way, sold you a faulty mobile home the first question will be, "did you get it inspected?" Different states have different laws, but there will always be an element of buyer beware. To PROVE the seller withheld information that lead to the fire may be tough.
You're going to need an attorney to take this any further than the conversation stage. Since the insurance company is involved, you can share your concerns with them and see if they will pursue the seller, but if they do it will likely be to recover their losses, not necessarily yours.
I'm sorry you're in such a mess. Find an attorney to at least have an initial consult with.

Good Evenin,
Green Tree Servicing has acquired the property through sheriff sale. If you had an offer on it 2 months ago your agent should have disclosed that this was a short sale at that time. meaning it was in the process of foreclosure. the house will most likely be back on the market within the next 90 days unfortunately it will be at a higher price than what was listed before. Hope this helps. Have a happy Easter.
Call me anytime I would be honored to work with you.

Hi Richard

Vassar is a small town in the Thumb region of Michigan. It does have gas stations and grocery store.
Outside of the city there is farm and hunting land. You would need to visit the city and area to see what it is like. Below are links to the city website and a couple of newspapers in the area.
