For Mitchell or Yancey County you will need to call the county tax office to find out about any taxes that are owed on a property.

All public tax records are available online at your county's website.

Please contact your county tax assessor for a duplicate copy of your tax bill and the amount that is owed. Also, if you have a relationship with a local Realtor they can help you obtain this information from a local title company. Good luck.

Here is the web site with phone numbers.
From what little I saw, it didn't look as if you could get answers online. Please keep in mind that the "value" or "appraisal" that the county assesses for your property, does not mean that is what someone would pay for it. You should either hire an appraiser or have a Realtor do a CMA.

Go to the local courthouse in your juristiction to find out about the taxes.
On the value of the property, get an appraisal to do it right
