Ms. Whalen,

The South of Broad neighborhood is certainly one of peninsular Charleston's most desireable. The homes range from historic treasures dating to pre revolutionary times, to victorian splendor at it's best, all the way to modern masterpieces that add to the ambiance of this most coveted address.
Prices here range from well under a million, up to almost 11 million currently active on the MLS. There is even a quiet listing in the $23 million dollar range. Truly, a most amazing neighborhood for a multitude of reasons. May I suggest finding a Realtor that specializes in the South of Broad neighborhood. A Realtor that will help guide you to wonderful examples that fit your needs, via the internet, ongoing discussion and communication, and by previewing homes you like in advance of your arrival, then reporting back in detail. Please select a Realtor that will explain South Carolina Buyer Agency Law first and foremost, designed for your protection as a consumer. (Remember Listing Agents work for the Seller)
My office is located at the corner of Broad and Church, South of Broad. The building dates to 1740, wonderful. My attention is constantly focused on this area. I know, love and treasure it. This is a world class neighborhood, currently quite affordable. Always in demand.
Please allow me to be of benefit in your search. I promise to make it an outstanding experience.

Hi Emily,

To answer your question, our Charleston MLS separates two areas of the Charleston peninsula. One is "Charleston, below the crosstown" and the other is "Charleston, above the crosstown". Homes located "South of Broad" [Street] would be included in the "below crosstown" search. The area south of Broad is closer to the Harbor and The Battery of Charleston and is the older part of the historic area. Hope this helps a little. We have so many bridges and waterways that just a simple search of Charleston will be quite spread out. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Kindest regards,
Marcia Wray

Here you go for now. Click the link below and it only has South of Broad.
I can send you this search and any updates will come automatically to you as new properties are listed if that will help you.

You can try to put in South of Broad as a subdivision when you are searching the mls.

Jaqueline,
I am working with a buyer now that is looking south of Broad so I just set up a search that gives him that specific information and he continues to get updates on only that area.
The reason you can't search it that way it due to our local mls way of listing the properties. You are not doing anything wrong.
They list them as below the crosstown etc. so you get more properties than you want. Its just the way they do it. There is no particular search category in our mls for just south of broad.
Let me know if I can help you. Setting up an individual search and having it update for you is easy and I am happy to help in any way.
Thanks
