What's the default sort order in the results?

Asked by George, California Thu Jul 5, 2007

Just out of curiousity... When I first get a list of results after doing a search, what's the order in which the list is first presented? I know I can click on the little triangles to pick a specific sort order, but by default what is it? Are the "freshest" properties at the top?

Hi George,
If you mean the property listing search results, the order is determined by an algorithm that takes a lot of facts into account, such as relevance to your search, photos, details, recency, etc. You can always sort by any criterion you want, such as price, broker, and other criteria, and it looks like you've found the little triangles already!

I hope this helps.

The results are sorted chronologically as they come in. When somebody answers a question, it puts it back at the top.
