I've heard the train, which is in very close proximity to the townhomes, is unbearable from a noise perspective in the middle of the night.

The best way is to talk to a few residents there and then you can decide whether you want to live there.

You might consider contacting the homeowner's association or just knock on a few doors in the neighborhood to see what residents have to say about it - but have your Realtor with you if you decide to do that.
