In Ohio the property line in the city is the set back line at the street. The sidewalk and street are city property but you are responsible fopr maintaining them (shovel snow etc,). The city also asseses you for curbs, wlaks, and street repairs. The alley is also usually city property and has the same rules. Outside the metro area you own to the center of the road with the township, county, or state having right of way and utility rights.

Hope this helps

Sure.

See my blog at http://www.trulia.com/blog/don_tepper/2010/03/how_you_can_find_and_buy_a_lease-option_rent-to-own_property I list 12 ways to find a lease-option; the process is identical for land contracts. The main point I make is that some will be listed on the MLS that way. Most won't. In fact, many aren't on the MLS at all. And in many cases, they have to be created.

It really isn't difficult.

Hope that helps.
