When your house isn't actively for sale, Trulia just pulls random data from different sources. It's not always going to be wright. When you actually list your house for sale with an agent, the listing data feeds over here and writes over the public information Trulia currently has posted.

Also, right or wrong, not one buyer cares what you paid for your house. That number means nothing to a buyer.

Katheryn, since you already know the property you are interested in, it is easy enough to find out the owner of the property through the county records. If the names, addresses, phones, etc. don't match, you might want to find out why.

Never send money until you know for sure that the person you are dealing with is legitimate or at least legally authorized to handle it. If possible use a third party, like a bank, to handle the money.

Hi Tdhirsch,

If you're referring to the popular neighborhoods we show on our Local Info pages like the one below, those are calculated each week based on search behavior on the Trulia website.

w-o-w indicates week over week, while y-o-y indicates year over year.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Barbara - Yes, you absolutely can search by MLS# on Trulia. From the home page, perform a city/state search. On the left hand side of the results page you'll see a lot more search options. One of the expanded search options is "keyword" and you can type the MLS# here to find the property. However, not all real estate brokerages syndicate to Trulia so you will have limited access to properties. You would be better served by or a "property search" on a site the feeds directly from a local MLS such as my site. ... more

Hi Nathan,

I'm sorry for not responding sooner. Our data is refreshed approximately every 24 hours as Cindi said and as others have noted below, our data does depend upon agents and brokers updating information on their own websites and any other sites they may have submitted their listing information to.

Also, if a listing is not currently live on Trulia that most likely means that the listing agent or broker has not submitted the listing for inclusion in our search engine.

Best Wishes,

Emily Gibson
