FYI -- the "foreclosure" listings you see here aren't necessarily true foreclosures (aka "bank owned") that are for sale. Realty Trac likes to list these bogus listings that aren't on the market. It's possible the owner has missed a few payments there is an NED (notice of election and demand) filed with the county. That doesnt mean it's for sale. You should hire a REALTOR as your Buyer's Agent, and he/she can help you buy any bank owned property that IS listed for sale. ... more

Hi Melissa, it depends on where in Trumansburg you buy. The village taxes are different then the town and some areas you will have Trumansburg services such as fire/ambulance/school but the house is in a different town such as Covert. On average you'll pay around $30 per assessed thousand. So for every $100,000 the house is assessed for you'll pay $3000. Again, you need to check with a buyers agetn to learn more about taxes since it varies so much. I hope this helps. ... more
