The red line itself is not close. However, you can take the Green line from Haymarket (just an 8 minute walk from the apartment location) to Park Street to switch to the Red line (just a 5 min ride)... The closest red line station would probably be Charles/MGH at the edge of Beacon Hill and the North End but it's about a 20-minute walk...

There is no Red Line close to the North End. The closest station is Park Street, and it is about 3/4 of a mile away.
