The neighborhood is West Brighton, NOT Mariner's Harbor as incorrectly noted below. The area you reference is protected by the NYPD's 120th Precinct, check this link for the most accurate and current statistics;…

Neighborhoods don't kill people. People kill people. You can get shot anywhere. Bad people live everywhere, even in the best of neighborhoods. Try reading Psalm 23; "Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil"... Any place I have lived at, I take precautions, avoid certain spots, keep my eyes opened.. That's from Eltingville to West Brighton... My son's bicycle was stolen in Eltingville. Go figure. Call me and let's sit and talk. 718-720-2300 Eli

I'm sure that you can walk down any neighborhood and not get shot if the people trying to shoot you have bad aim.

John, N. Burgher Avenue is in the Mariners Harbor area of Staten Island. While there are some pockets of middle class families living in the area, for the most part it is a high crime area. Actual statistics may be obtained from the 120 precinct or on-line via various sites. Google Mariners Harbor and crime statistics.

When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.…
