commuting from chester nj to nyc ...

Asked by MEGM, Bergen County, NJ Fri Oct 2, 2009

does anyone take a bus? is there a park and ride? We are trying to figure out if a train or bus (direct to nyc) would take less time (during rush hour).

Just 5 min south of Chester NJ transit has a station at Gladstone with convenient commuter trains to NY,
( about 1 hr). Parking is plentiful and free. Bus commuting is an option, but is subject to traffic jams on the commuter highways ( Rts 78 and 80), as well as tunnel or bridge backup. Bad weather impacts bus travel more than train travel.

Hi Megm

Check out the NJ transit schedule for the midtown direct train

I doubt that taking a bus would be a shorter commute.

Good luck
