What is the average time in and out of Moraga to the Freeway or BART during morning commute hours?

I commute to SSF and I'm interested in this before continuing to look in Moraga.

Don't be turned off by the seemingly longer commute. Unless your in the back (east end) of Moraga, like Tharp Drive, in Sanders Ranch, etc. the drive time distance would not be much more than many areas in Lafayette and Orinda. Remember the Ivy Drive area in Orinda isn't but a few minutes away, plus you will find your best value in a home purchase in Moraga, all else being equal, the extra five minutes is worth it.

There's also a lot of traffic a school start/stop times at Miramonte High School, if you're coming up Moraga Way past there

Thanks for the quick reply. That seems like a long time at the heavy commute time just to get to the freeway.

Hi Ollimom,

The real answer depends on where in Moraga you begin. The Sanders Ranch area might take you up to 25 minutes in heavy commute times. The closer in areas might be between 10 - 15 minutes. Toward the Campolindo side of town, you might chose the Lafayette BART station. The Joaquin Moraga side of town might chose the Orinda BART station.

About 10 minutes from the intersection of Moraga Way/Moraga Road to Orinda Bart before 7.30

Time will vary from there, especially during the school year. If you are leaving home at 8 to 8.30, it can be as much as 20 or 25 minutes to BART/freeeway.
