I've hardly ever used public transportation. How can I get from midtown Sacramento to Berkeley on a Saturday evening?

Hello Just Looking in Sacramento,
My boyfriend lives in Alameda, and I frequent Amtrak to get down to my man. I love taking the train, it's a great way to catch up with my reading and at the same time, enjoy the beautiful scenery. With the rising gas prices, I actually prefer taking the train. Let's hope the prices don't go up soon. Enjoy your trip.

I often take the Amtrak from San Francisco to Sacramento, and it takes about an hour to go from Berkeley to Sacramento.

sweet! thanks y'all! I found out you don't reserve; just show up 1/2 hr before. there are 3 options so if i miss one, I'll just take the next one. Awesome. thanks again! :-)

Erin's right, it's about an hour-and-a-half and $22 each way on Amtrak. Easy! If you need to get to Amtrak you can take light rail directly to the Sacramento Valley Station.

I am guessing Amtrak (just as in the last question you had asked regarding Livermore) is your best bet - http://www.Amtrak.com.
