The earlier you leave, the easier the commute. You could get there in an hour or under if you leave from TO 6:30 or 7:00 AM. At 7:30, the roads are getting busier, and you could be looking at 1 1/2 hours.
The trip back from Century City at 6 or 6:30 PM will be long, can easily be 1 1/2 hours.
You might look for alternate routes, like taking Topanga Canyon to PCH, and then taking Sunset into Century City.

On 101 South towards 405-South:- Anytime after 8 Am is a problem till about Noon & then it gets better till 3 Pm, thereafter again it's grind
On Way back in the evening it is a bumper to bumper on 405 & 101 no matter where you come from. Best leave at 4 the latest wherever you are or after 7 PM
Hope this helps!

The earlier you leave the better! My husband left at 5:30am and it was usually a piece of cake
