No idea if you have relocated here -if you are renting down here..but being from NY myself...I saw this...I am also in Charlotte and I also at one point had limited credit...the best way to get yourself established is do a secured credit card, like wells fargo...open it up and put $500 on it, use it, keep it paid monthly and usually within a year they will ask you if you would like tp transfer to a regular credit card...as much as you want to think you are doing things the "smart way" by just having cash-the bigger part of the world revolves are having a credit score to get some necessities now a days...if you can be responsible as to why credit needs to be established in order to get say a car loan or home at another point in life, and at a good rate...do the above..because besides smart, it is the safe way to establish credit.
