When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local authorities with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.

Akilasmile,
The listing agent doesn't work for you. You need to have an agent representing your needs and doing the pestering for you. Your agent will know who to complain to and the best way to get the answers you need. Your agent will also fight to get you the best deal possible.
Personally, I like doing both listings and representing sellers. I have a much more rounded perspective on what the seller's are looking for and how to appeal to them then if I only represented buyers.
Please, do yourself a huge favor and hire the best possible agent to represent you, whether on this home or another.

Good Eveing Dewan,
It's great you're looking to purchase in Bridgeport, CT. One of the first things to do is find an agent which you are comfortable with. No two agents are the same. Interview those whom you may work with and decide who will be able to give you the most value. I have three principles to work by: integrity, loyalty, and honesty. Feel free to browse my website or give me a call at anytime of the day or night at (203)996-5363. I'd be happy to work with you. Best of luck!! ... more
