I agree. You can do it yourself. There are a lot of great powerful blog sites with huge SEO upside. There are simple and straight forward to achieve results. If you outsource it, INDIA is fairly cheap for MASTERS DEGREE/PHD level work, BUT many friends say the accent becomes almost a language barrier.…

Good luck!

I used to outsource link building from India, but even when they sent me reports of all the directories they added me into, my website didn't rank any better.

Now Im using link building softwares and I build all my links myself. I can recommend Link Militia ( as good value for money.

I outsourced on-site SEO from overseas with great success (from Panama,

"The link in the Q&A section won't help in Google, because its no-followed in Google."

This is very true, no websites you link to in Q&A get credit in Google. Although, Each question and answer you post does link back to your own Trulia profile and they are followed. In turn, you are allowed 5 website links in your profile which are also followed. So, as you build up your Q & A over time, all 5 links in your profile will benefit since the Google "juice" is passed along to them.

The 5 website links in your Trulia profile are the only links that I have ever found on Trulia that are actually followed by Google. I would be sure to take advantage of them all. If you only have one personal website, try linking to 5 different pages, or add a link to your broker's website. Use good anchor text since Trulia lets you type in the name of the link separately from the address.

The link in the Q&A section won't help in google, because its no-followed in Google.

However, if you want more help, I recently did a post called "SEO for Wordpress" which has 55
tips for bloggers.

Great unique content plus marketing and relationships drives SEO and link building.

1) Short answer, outsource to create resources you're audience would really like. 12 great tips for buying real estate in (your city name), 14 secrets to selling real estate in (your city name), and then doing a press release about it.

2) Also, when you link to your own posts use anchor text that is relevant to your town and the real estate keywords you are talking about.

3) Create an ongoing relationship with a blogger in your town (or not--perhaps with your same company in a nearby town) who regularly posts good content.

4) Blog together in a team with other people from your company. If you work with a major company consider connecting to them on Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, or Ning. Create relationship to build links, conversation, and community.

I hope these tips help!

Peter, I forgot; create a sitemap and submit it to Goggle through Google Webmaster.
Acttualy you might want to start there, with Google Webmaster.

Hi Peter,

I saw your question somewhere before...I suppose you are still looking for an answer...I am not going to be very useful as I keep my SEO in house. Meaning I have my husband taking care of it. He is in the IT field so it works perfectly.
I never really thought about outsourcing my SEO anyway, its a jungle out there with so many lying promises. The bottom line is that it will take months for a site to reach a consistent level of unique visitors and anyone that tells you that they can bring you 10,000 quality traffic within 48 hours for $9.99 is simply misleading you.
There are few things you can do on your own to drastically increase your organic ranking and in the same time increase your daily unique visitors metric:
Make sure all your tags/metatags are relevant and completed (page title, page description, page keyword). Did you submit your site to Google, Yahoo and MSN? Is your site full of original content with industry keywords repeating in that content? Advertizing in site like Craigslist with link to your pages will also help (Google crawls Craigslist and they will be able to find your site within a few weeks). You might want to edit your content at least weekly to give a reason to Googlebot and Yahoo Slurp to come back every day to your site. The more linking (you can use Trulia also to link back to your main site) and the more traffic you will generate to your main site. This might not help much in your ranking but at least it generates quality traffic.
First make sure your site is indexed (go to the search engines and plug your entire website :ie and see if it returns your site. You cannot increase your ranking, if you are not indexed.
There are a lot of site that could give you the SEO 101. has some self kit help for SEO.
