Where do you go to list your rental property?

Asked by Hayward Little, Jr, Troy, MI Sat Oct 6, 2007

Most of my rental properties have done well in attracting buyers from signs out front. I'm wondering what are popular sites used now by renters to search for property.

I listed my beautiful townhomes in Plymouth on Tenantmarket.com. It's sort of like a Match.com, where both parties enter what the criteria is that they have for rent or want to rent. Then there are several matches that come up. There is a small charge, depending on how long you want to subscribe, but it's worth it. I actually work in Minneapolis and I use it there all of the time for my clients. Check it out!

Craigslist and Rent.com are among the best sites to market your rental. I would also suggest using your local classified section of your newspaper, many people still check the classifieds for all types of products and services. A good old fashion newspaper is also good for fishing out the millions of people that are just not computer saavy.

Good Luck,

Try using either RealEstateShows.com or WellcomeMat.com to post video or slideshows of your listings on Craigslist. RealEstateShows.com is great because you can embed html into the Craigslist ad to help your listing stand apart from the rest.

We put them in our MLS so Realtors can see them and potential renters can get a "flash" or hot sheet on them. Do your MLS rules allow for rentals. ?
