When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local authorities with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.

Rick Fifer answered:
You can use the Hillsborough county school locator: to determine which schools serve the location. I believe the home is in District 3 for the Tampa police department and you may be able to get very accurate crime data for the immediate neighborhood. That is sometimes much more useful than generalized information found on many websites. ... more

Some say too much of a good thing is not so good.
I do not agree.

Is weather an issue? IT depends on what you make of it.
The first thing you learn in Florida is you don't let the weather dictate what you do. You really can do what ever you want except for a few days out of the year.

If you are ready to immerse in all of Florida's glory, weather is not an issue.

Best of success,

Jennifer Guardiani answered:
A bad area is really a personal opinion and not one a real estate agent can or should answer for you. It is really the buyers responsibility to do the due diligence and make the decision on what they are comfortable with.

What I would suggest is two things. One if you find a property you like visit this website and type in the zip code. It will give you all the data for the area. You can also look up the address on this site as well;jsessionid=v32E628HpBxfbS65e97+lQ__

Second I also suggest putting the address into google earth. You can get right down to the street level and get a feel for the neighborhood, what is around it etc. Then armed with the information you can make an personal educated decision. If you are local I would suggest driving the area either during the and also at night to get a feel as well.

I hope this helps. If you need anything else or have other questions feel free to call me, happy to help. My information is below.

Kitty, if you are seeking conveniences then the location offers close proximity to shopping. If you will be commuting to downtown then you will have to figure out the best time to leave to and from work for arriving in a timely manner.

That seems odd... if you look at Trulia's crime map it appears to be a lower crime area.

Did you get your info from the County Sheriff's website?

amandacain 76, this is a subjective question, relative to your personal perception of safety.

Suggest that you visit the following websites:
Hillsborough sheriff's website re: crime map.

Both will be able to provide you with most current and accurate information. You can use this information to determine for yourself, where you will feel most safe.
